Rebuilt in 1995 and renamed XPC15, it was installed & operated around the world aboard the Mystere, a 200-foot yacht. It was further modified in 2001 & renamed Antipodes by Submarine Adventures, which successfully operated the sub in Milford Sound, New Zealand, where it took thousands of tourists on dives to depths of 1,000 feet. It was purchased by OceanGate, Inc. in 2009. It has been their main workhorse since. OceanGate has now developed & built the most up to date, technically advanced, deep diving submarines in the world. Antipodes is only limited by it's depth range of a thousand feet. Although, Antipodes is one hundred percent up to date & ready for It's next mission. Dubbed Antipodes: N - The direct opposite of something. My guess is the opposite of water pressure! Survey the under water depths as you please!Engineered with both safety & convenience in mind, Antipodes is certified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and has proven itself as a safe & effective vessel over the course of more than 1,300 dives in a variety of sea conditions. While typical mission profiles will call for dives of 2-8 hours in duration, Antipodes has the additional capability to provide life support for five people for 72 hours. It is not recommended that the vessel be used in less than seventy five to one hundred feet.Seating: 5 persons (1 pilot + 4 crew)Depth: 305 meters (1,000 feet)Dimensions: 4.5 m x 2.3 m x 2.4 m (15 ft x 7.5 ft x 8 ft)Crane Weight: 6,500 kg (14,000 lbs)Speed: 1 knot (cruising), 3 knots (max)Propulsion: Six, 5-hp reversible thrusters vectored for 3-axis maneuveringLife Support: 72 hours (w/5 persons)Classification: American Bureau of Shipping ✠A1 Submersible (ABS ID: [removed phone])This manned submersible is designed to access shallow and deepwater ocean environments for commercial, research & military initiatives. The seller's company was founded to increase access to shallow & deepwater environments through the next generation of manned submersible solutions. In 2009, Stockton Rush and Guillermo Shnlein, successful businessmen with close ties to the aerospace and technology industries, founded OceanGate Inc., an ocean exploration venture focused on providing manned submersible solutions which enable researchers to access the oceans' vast resources. Taking an early lead in an emerging market, Stockton & Guillermo recognized that private industry funding & utilization of modern materials could have a major impact on the ability to explore earth's deep oceans while significantly lowering the cost of entry for subsea initiatives.During the first two-and-a-half years of operations, using a disciplined cost/benefit analysis, They evaluated undersea technologies & acquired this submersible Antipodes. From the beginning, the seller has sought to develop strategic partnerships in order to leverage outside expertise for their client objectives. These partnerships have enabled them to deploy innovative & often proprietary technology to recover historical artifacts, maps, documents, shipwrecks, as well as observe & record marine life/underwater habitats. One of the earliest partners they have had is Teledyne BlueView Technologies. They have worked with them to install advanced multi-beam sonar systems on the submersible. One of the sellers highest priority mission objectives during their early dives was to develop & draft a set of detailed operations, maintenance, & safety manuals for the crew & equipment that would allow them to operate safely & consistently in a wide variety of demanding environments. These procedures have proved to be extremely effective as the seller has successfully undertaken submarine expeditions around Washington, California, the Gulf of Mexico and Florida. They continue to evaluate/update these procedures after every dive. Since 2009, They have safely completed over 150 dives in the Pacific, the Atlantic, & the Gulf of Mexico. In June 2013, the seller committed its Antipodes to a series of dives to showcase the company's ability to operate quickly & efficiently through successive cycles of mobilization & deployment. In less than 30 days they completed expeditions in three separate bodies of water across the contiguous United States. This series of dives was performed by a single team with just this one submersible vehicle diving first in the Pacific, then the Gulf of Mexico, & finishing in the Atlantic. Each location had very specific dive objectives that included: equipment testing, oil platform surveys, invasive species & habit monitoring. Over the past four years, the sellers engineering & research team has spent considerable time & financial resources in the design, operation & construction of submersible assets for client use in subsea programs. The new designs, upgrades & refits have produced this submersible In addition to manned vehicle assets, The seller's engineering team has developed launch/retrieval & transport (LRT) vehicles, which increase mission flexibility by providing a standalone option for deployment when ship time is limited. The LRT program utilizes their engineering expertise to expand solutions for a variety of budgets & sea states. The seller continues to leverage technology, materials science, control systems and engineering to deliver the next generation of tools & vehicles for shallow and deepwater missions. This submersible asset has four unique elements to deliver safe, cost effective & quality operations:1. Reduced cost of deployment & increased mission flexibility,2. Elimination of tether management issues & the requirement for dynamic positioning, capable support vessels,3. This has the ability to work off any ship of opportunity.4. Mobility & demobilization costs reduced, This submersible can be containerized & shipped anywhere in the world. This vessel has very safe track record & it has been extremely reliable. It is certified & insurable. It has a flexible configuration to allow add on technology & equipment specific for each particular engagement. It can be deployed as a single source solution or in tandem with AUVs, ROVs & other underwater vehicles & data collection programs. The seller is offering training & support for the future owner/operator at a cost to be determined.Copy & paste this link to your browser.
